About me
Who am I
Hello, my name is Nazende Afakoğlu. I am a visual artist. I was born in Istanbul in 1986. I studied Communication at Maltepe University in Istanbul. I made a living working in public relations and business marketing.
I have always been someone who draws, shapes and loves colors. The evolution of my artistic talent into professionalism began with my decision to leave Turkey and start living in Mongolia in 2018. In my story of searching and discovering myself, I found myself with brushes and paints in my hand. I transferred my feelings to canvases, papers, stones, fabrics and mud. I stepped into a world where I can make my dreams come true with my own hands. I started drawing, sculpting, painting and creating non-stop and created my own style. I named it 'weirdo style'.
What kind of work do I create?
Even though I don't like to fit into a mold, I create works that overlap with expressionism and symbolism movements. I am in an adventure that takes shape as I produce and finds its own path.
